GEOG 495 C: Special Topics

 This course offers an overview of the social dimensions of water access and provision with an emphasis on questions of equity, public health, and climate change. We will explore the place of water in collective life and asks what the distribution and use of water can tell us about structures of inequality and sociopolitical understandings of built and natural environments. Students will also interrogate standard rubrics of water availability, access, and governance and critically analyze historical and contemporary events in order to deepen our understanding of the structures of inequality that are exacerbated by water insecurity from a transnational perspective.
