Professors Sarah Elwood and Vicky Lawson from the University of Washington Geography Department explain the origins and workings of the Relational Poverty Network. The Network is made up of an international community of scholars who are working to shift thinking about ” the poor and poor others” to relationships of power and privilege. They discussed these ideas by linking a comparative study from Seattle and Buenos Aires with a discussion of feminized poverty in Whatcom County WA.
