Social Media Yearbook

Instructions

  1. Pick & download a template from those available below.
  2. Choose a photo that you would like to appear in your yearbook post. Make sure it is the same dimensions as the space on your chosen template. You should crop/edit these photos on your phone before adding them to the template.
  3. Open Instagram & add the template to your story. You may need to reposition the image so that it fits your screen.
  4. Add text/captions to respond to all of the questions and position them appropriately (please remember we do not offer a degree in GIS – you will be graduating with a BA in Geography or BA Geography: Data Science Option). Also be sure to use our hashtag: #UWGeogConvocation2021
  5. Click on the square smiley face in the upper right. Scroll down until you see a white square outline with line drawn scenery this will allow you to add a photo from your camera roll.
  6. Add the photo that you chose in step 2. Remember to crop it as needed before this step. Position it appropriately for the template.
  7. Add stickers, gifs, music, locations as desired! Have fun with it! Note: Please ensure these additions adhere to the UW Geography Code of Conduct. We will not share any posts that include curse words, explicit music, or threatening imagery.
  8. If you would like to post it to your own Instagram story, please tag us @uwgeog so that we are able to post it to our story and add it to our highlight reel.
  9. If you do not want to post it to your own Instagram story, please complete steps 1-6, add any stickers you would like to use and save the image to your phone. Then email this image to geogadv@uw.edu with the caption 'Instagram Yearbook Submission'. We will then add these posts to our Instagram story. By sending this email, you give us permission to share the attached image with our followers on our public Instagram account.
