Geography Undergraduate Research Symposium

Each year, the Department of Geography features outstanding undergraduate research projects in the Geography Undergraduate Research Symposium. We look forward to welcoming our student participants as well as audience members from our department community!

This year's event takes place on Friday, May 31, 2024.

Undergraduates, please plan to attend and consider submitting a proposal to participate in the symposium to share your research with our department community! We would love to showcase the geography research you’ve conducted this year in courses, clubs, jobs, internships, volunteer projects – any opportunity you’ve had to dig deeper on a subject that is meaningful to you and resonates with what you’ve been learning in your geography major. There are many ways to participate in the symposium both in-person and online, synchronous and asynchronous, and just like every year there will be prizes!

  • Live Lightning Talk Presentation (3-5 minutes)

  • Pre-Recorded Presentation

  • Digital Projects

  • Written Paper/Essay

  • Other Ideas?

Please find the link to the sign-up form below, and please complete the form by Wednesday, May 22, at the latest. We will follow up with all participants to help you prepare for the event.
